The crime TV series have shown success all around the world and are in the increase. These series are part of a sub-genre of the mystery story in which the police try to demonstrate accurately their activities as they investigate crimes. The attention of the viewer is focused on evidence, tools, procedures of investigation and not on the crime itself.

M6 has signed 2006 FIFA World Cup

M6 has signed 2006 FIFA World Cup broadcast agreement for France and thus secures live coverage of 31 of the 64 games of the next World Cup in Germany. Those matches will be integrally produced in HDTV for simulcast on Digital platform TPS .

 
A new season full of promises with M6

M6 is becoming more and more of a generalist TV channel and with 19% Audience share against adults 15-49, it is becoming France’s second TV station on this target. M6 intends to improve this season and to attract new viewers with event television (both in entertainment and news fields), also by developing more French comedy series and new entertainments.

 
ANTENA 3 acquires exclusive Champions League rights

Antena3 has acquired the exclusive rights to the live free-to-air broadcast of the UEFA Champions League from 2006 to 2009. This agreement guarantees Antena 3 the exclusive live broadcast of the best Tuesday matches (preferential right to choose), as well as the broadcasting rights for the finale along with the summaries of the matches played on Wednesday. No other free-to-air stations will broadcast Champions League.

 
Telenovelas shine in daytime

Antena 3 has reintroduced “Telenovelas” in its daytime schedule with an amazing success. These romantic drama series that usually run for 100-200 episodes are back in vogue. Antena 3 not only offer South-American imports (Pasion de gavilanes) but also its own adaptation of the genre (El autentico Rodrigo Leal, a columbian format).

RTL in October

RTL holds onto its No.1 position among German television stations in October. With a market share of 16.3 percent, the Cologne station was ahead of Sat.1 (12.5 percent), Pro Sieben (11.8), ARD (8.1), and ZDF (6.7) among the advertising relevant 14- to 49-year-old demographic. RTL Television also scored high among the overall audience above the age of three with a market share of 13.5 percent. The public stations ARD and ZDF each achieved 12.9 percent, Sat.1 achieved 11.3 percent, and Pro Sieben had 6.7 percent in this segment.

 
SUPER RTL develops family programming in prime time

In just ten years, Super RTL has become Europe’s children station with the largest reach and highest ratings. Super RTL achieved an audience share against children 3-13 of 31.4% in September 2005 in daytime (from 6am to 8pm).
