Across Europe there are an increasing number of travel programmes which cater for different budgets and tastes, each giving the viewer glimpses of another culture and way of life - In addition to this are programmes which follow adventurers and explorers across the globe. In this flash we look at some of the popular travel and adventure programmes across Europe.

 
NBA ON CLUB RTL

CLUB RTL in South-Belgium is going on with its strategy to target a (young)  male audience  in the evening adding basketball to its already attractive  sport portfolio. Starting on December 1st, Club RTL will broadcast every Monday  a one hour NBA highlights show around 10.15pm. This program will offer large excerpts  of the best match over weekend. The first show will be devoted to the long awaited match between Los Angeles Lakers/San Antonio Spurs
 

 
FRIENDS COME BACK ON CLUB RTL

The most watched  sitcom in the world “Friends” is back on Club RTL for new episodes ! The series is broadcast every Wednesday at 19:20.
“Friends” returns  on Club RTL after a few months hiatus. Previous seasons   reached record audience  like 20% Share against Adults 15-34.
 

 
n-tv INTRODUCES NEW PACKAGES TO REACH DECISION-MAKERS

RTL : OPENING OF THE SKI JUMPING SEASON

The new Ski Jumping season runs from December 13th to February 22nd 2004. RTL is broadcasting this year again 18 live events from the world cup and the “VierSchanzen Tournee”.
RTL has turned Ski Jumping into one of the most popular sports on German television. The success of the German Ski Jumpers (the Hannawald family and Martin Schmidt) associated to the professionalism of a duo of star commentators (Germany’s favorite Günter Jauch and former ski champion Dieter Thoma) has been the key of success of Ski Jumping on RTL.

 
SUPER RTL TO BROADCAST ADVERTISING WINDOWS FOR THE SWISS MARKET

If you want to reach children and mothers, SUPER RTL is exactly the right channel. SUPER RTL (a joint-venture between RTL and Disney)  is the number one children’s channel in German-speaking territories. The programme grid is clearly defined according to day parts. The channel reaches children (from preschoolers to older children) during the day thanks to cartoons and children magazines and targets adult women and “shoppers” on the evenings through classic series and family films.
 
SUPER RTL already successfully offers specific advertising blocks for Austria. From March 2004 on, you will be able to book on the Swiss windows of SUPER RTL ! More in the next issue. 
 

 
THE SUCCESS OF FICTION SERIES

The new TV season in Spain confirms the return in favour of drama and comedy series.
Real TV formats like Operacion Triumfo or Big Brother have lost some of their appeal.
The weekly top audience charts  are filled with prime time drama and comedy  series.
In most cases they are home-grown productions.
ANTENA 3 have been particularly successful this new season with its two nights commited to
Spanish productions.

 
THE RYTHM OF YOUR LIFE: RTL FM

In mid-October RTL fm the new Dutch radio station unveiled its programming strategy. RTL fm, sets out to conquer the Dutch radio landscape with non-stop music that takes its cue from the time of day. The music is varied, fresh and popular. It also includes a certain percentage of Dutch songs.
RTL fm also offers up-to-date news every hour on the  hour by well known journalists coming from TV.
During morning (7-9 am) and afternoon rush hours (4-7 pm) the station airs more detailed news programmes with more background coverage.
The new radio station is aimed at 20- 49 age group in whole the Netherlands through a national coverage (national FM network as well as national cable frequency).
From now on, RTL radio family covers the main coveted targets for advertisers  with RTL fm and Yorin FM.
The two stations perfectly complement each other. While RTL fm broadcasts adult music and news Yorin FM is really close to young listeners. Each week two million listeners tune into the dynamic, modern and self-willed Yorin FM to hear today’s greatest hits .
