The new season of RTL II
GERMANY | TV | 19.09.2005| FLASH September 2005

For its new Autumn Prime Time schedule, RTL II capitalizes on one of its programming cornerstone : the docusoaps and real life tv.

This september big events is the new Docu-soap format “Borussia Banana” : The world famous football trainer Lothar Matthäus is in charge of building a football team out of a handful of men who display all qualities except the ones of playing football. The Aim of the soap is to end up playing a match against professional German soccer players. Football freaks, as well as non-football followers will definitely be thrilled by that promising new programme broadcast on Prime Time every Thuesday.

Starting this Autumn as well , the star Chef Jamie Oliver will  be on air with his “Jamie’s School dinners”.

Otherwise RTLII maintains its reputation as the most inventive German channel in launching an experimentation : “30 days in a rolling chair” (“Das Experiment : 30 Tage im Rollstuhl”) that promises to make the headlines.

Proven-formulas such as the successful docutainement formats “Superfrauchen” and “Supermamas” or in another other genre “Welt der Wunder” are also back on the schedule. RTLII is also the home of  “Big Brother” which continues being successfully broadcast at 19:00 from Monday to Saturday with high audience shares, especially on Adults 14-29.

Another cornerstone of RTL II is fiction with US blockbusters and some paying-off risk-taking strategies such as programming Bollywood Films. Given their past success the Indian love stories will  continue to be an event on RTL II’s Friday nights !

US drama series will deliver high and stable ratings this season as well, with “Law and Order : New York”, “Crime Scene Lake Glory”, “Stargate” and the highly expected fourth season of “24” back on the schedule.
