The new edition of IP’s „Television - International Key Facts" will be published the 15th October 2007. This is the 14th edition of this annual reference book.

The study which includes data from almost 900 TV channels across Europe, Japan and the USA, reports on the developments and highlights of national markets. It provides exclusive views into 38 TV and advertising markets worldwide. An analysis of programming trends in Europe and reports concerning digitalisation, TV viewing and TV research can also be found in the publication.

TV is still the most important medium worldwide and television holds an important place in everyday life. With average viewing of almost four hours per day, television is in pole position within the daily media usage of European citizens. Compared to the beginning of the century, daily viewing time has increased steadily from about 208 minutes in 2000 to 226 minutes in 2006, although there is a minimal decline of 1 minute to denote in comparison to 2005 (all data for target group adults). In the same period the viewing time in Western Europe increased from 208 minutes to 221 minutes.
