Swiss windows: What happened to the German advertising ?

Since September 2005, German ads are not visible anymore on RTL in Switzerland from 11:00 to midnight. German ads are also skipped on all main competitors since March 2006. German breaks are now covered by Swiss breaks when it’s legally possible and by programme trailers.

The French generalist tv station M6 offers specific Swiss ad-blocks in cable homes since January 2002. Today 94 Swiss ad-blocks per week are broadcast, allowing advertisers to specifically target French-speaking Swiss consumers. Since this year M6 Swiss window is part of IP NETWORK’s portfolio.
